Bread at La Canasta
On the corner of Calle Granada. Rustic bread — best to get there early. If you run into Mari, tell her you're with Caleta.

The four neighborhoods

The cafés on the main street open at 8 — have breakfast like a local.
On Saturday mornings there's a design market next to the CAC. Afterward, vermouth at the neighborhood Pimpi.
Stroll the seafront promenade at dusk: 20 minutes that are worth the whole trip.

Espetos at El Tintero: the waiter calls out the dishes. There's no menu. Trust us.

Guests who came back
The hand-drawn map took us to places no guidebook mentions. We ate where the locals eat.

Our key broke on a Sunday at 9 PM. By 9:25 someone was at the door. Booking doesn't give you that.

Our dog was as welcome as we were. The garden at Casa Higuera is gold with kids and a greyhound.
